With an introduction by the author's son and an introduction by the author's son-in-law, Harav HaKadosh Rabbi Chaim Halberstam, the Divrei Chaim, who concealed his name in the introduction and was identified only in later editions. In the introductions, Rabbi Chaim describes his work in collecting his father-in-law's Chiddushim, editing them, and incorporating his own Chiddushim into those of the author: 'ולקטתי פרחי' מבין העמרים עד כי יחדיו היו תואמי' חד לאחד בקישור הדברים אפס כי הוצרכתי פעם להוסיף פעם לגרוע איזה דבר כדי שיהיו מצומדי' היטב גם יחד... לעת ההכרח שיניתי כאשר הי' הראה לדעתי' In addition, the Divrei Chaim added glosses in the margins of several leaves. The revered Gaon, Rabbeinu the Baruch Taam of Leipnik (1760–1828) — the luminary of his generation and Halachic authority for Beis Yisrael. Father-in-law of Maran Harav HaKadosh the Divrei Chaim of Sanz (1797–1876), and ancestor of the great luminaries of Chassidus of Shinova, Strypkov, Kashanov, Bobov, Gorlice, Klausenburg, and most of the Tzaddikim of the House of Sanz. He was also an ancestor of the Tzaddikim of the House of Gur, the Sefas Emes and the Imrei Emes, and their righteous descendants after them. Throughout Klal Yisrael he is recognized as one of the greatest sages of the generations and one of the enduring pillars of Halachic authority. Stains. Good condition.
