Important historical Chassidic document! Blessing in His Holy Handwriting of Harav HaKadosh Rabbi Itzikel of Pshevorsk to Rebbetzin Alta Feiga Teitelbaum, wife of Harav HaKadosh Rabbeinu Yoel of Satmar — blessing to be blessed with offspring, “even beyond nature” – 1958 Written on the reverse side of a wedding invitation for the wedding of his Holy grandson, the Admor of Pshevorsk shlit”a — Rabbi Chaim Aryeh Leibush Leiser. On the reverse side of the present invitation, Harav HaKadosh of Pshevorsk wrote in His Holy Handwriting a blessing to the Satmar Rebbetzin, then forty-five years old, that she should merit to be blessed with offspring, “even beyond nature.” This is the text of his blessing: “To my esteemed relative, the righteous Rebbetzin, Bas Kedoshim, may she live, I bless with the blessing... May it be the will of our Father in Heaven that you be granted salvation speedily with living and enduring offspring, even beyond nature, and that this bring honor to Heaven and honor to all the House of Israel . Hakatan Moshe Yitzchak —grandson of Rabban Shel Kol Yisrael, Rabbi Elimelech z”l; may his merit protect us and all Israel, Amen.” Background: The righteous Rebbetzin Alta Feiga Teitelbaum (1912–2001) was the daughter of Rabbi Avigdor Shapiro, the Admor of Częstochowa in Poland, and a descendant of the Maggid of Kozhnitz and the “Maor V'Shemesh.” After Rabbi Yoel of Satmar was widowed from his first wife, Rebbetzin Chava (née Horowitz), on 5 Shevat 1936, approximately a year and a half later, on 13 Elul 1937, he married the righteous Rebbetzin Alta Feiga. The wedding took place in Tchebin, Galicia. The age difference between them was considerable; Rabbeinu Yoel was approximately twenty-five years older than she. Regrettably, they were not blessed with children. She passed away on 11 Sivan 2001 and was buried in Monroe near the resting place of her holy husband, zy”a. Harav HaKadosh Rabbi Moshe Yitzchak Gvirtzman (“Reb Itzikel”) of Pshevorsk (1882–1977) — descendant of Harav HaKadosh Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk zy”a, and foremost disciple of HaGaon HaKadosh Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga of Shinova. He lived in Pshevorsk, where he became renowned for his holiness and righteousness. During the Second World War, he was exiled to Siberia. After the war, he returned to Poland, then relocated to France, and from there, in 1956, settled in Antwerp, where he established his court and remained until his passing. He was deeply revered by Admorim of all circles, who held him in the highest esteem. Many Chassidim flocked to him for blessings and counsel. He became renowned as an exceptional Baal Tzedakah and as a wonder-working Tzaddik whose blessings and prayers brought salvation to many. His only son was murdered in the Holocaust. After his passing, he was succeeded by his distinguished son-in-law, Harav HaKadosh Rabbi Yaakov Leiser, father of the present Admor, Rabbi Chaim Aryeh Leibush shlit”a. Fair–good condition.
