With the stamps of Rabbi Moshe Yosef Hoffman of Pupa and of the Beis Midrash he founded in the Ungarin neighborhood of Jerusalem, “Chasam Sofer Tinyana.” Also included is a leaf depicting the holy sites in Eretz Yisrael, including the site of the Beis HaMikdash, the Western Wall, Me’aras HaMachpelah, Kever Rachel, the holy city of Zion, and Kever Dovid HaMelech, together with an illustration of the Menorah, with holy sites depicted upon its branches: Kever Shimon HaTzaddik, Me’aras Eliyahu, the holy city of Safed, the Western Wall, the holy city of Tiberias, Kever Elisha HaNavi, and Mishkan Shiloh. HaGaon HaKadosh Rabbi Moshe Yosef Hoffman , known as the Dayan of Pupa (1843–1928) — his Rebbe's said that he was holy from the womb, and his holiness was evident throughout his life. He received Semichah from his great Rebbe, Mahari”a - [Rabbi Yehuda Asad], and served as Rosh Yeshiva in his hometown of Sered. From 1882 until 1906, he disseminated Torah as Dayan and Moreh Tzedek of the distinguished community of Pupa. In 1906, he ascended to Eretz Yisrael, settled in Jerusalem, and immersed himself in Torah and Avodah in the Beis Midrash in the Batei Ungarin neighborhood. Throughout the day, he sat adorned with Tefillin and wrote hundreds and thousands of pages of Torah novellae, all of which were stored in the synagogue attic until they disappeared. His diligence and righteousness were extraordinary. A Gaon in both Nigleh and Nistar, humble in spirit, he merited revelations of Eliyahu HaNavi and was renowned as a wonder-worker and miracle worker. On one occasion, a disciple of HaGaon HaKadosh Rabbi Yehoshua Buxbaum, Av Beis Din of Galanta, asked whether his Rebbe, HaGaon HaKadosh Rabbi Moshe Yosef, the Dayan of Pupa, possessed Ruach HaKodesh? He replied: “Of Ruach HaKodesh I have no knowledge, but that he merited revelations of Eliyahu HaNavi, that I know, for I personally witnessed it.” Cardboard binding, defects to the title page and margins of the final leaf, repairs to the final leaf.
