”אַ רעטונגס אויפרוף” [A Call for Rescue] Broadside Issued by Rabbi Shalom Yitzchak Levitan, Av Beis Din of the Adas Yisrael Community in Oslo, Norway Appeal for the rescue of the community's synagogue and Beis Midrash building, which stood in danger of closure and sale due to heavy debts. Printed at the foot of the broadside are letters of support from leading Rabbis and Admorim, including: Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinski, Av Beis Din of Vilna; Rabbi Meir Shapiro, Av Beis Din of Lublin; the Admor of Sokołów; the Admor of Chortkov; and the Admorim of Sadigura. The Gaon Rabbi Sholom Yitzchak (ben Rabbi David Ben Zion) Levitan (1878-1941) - served as Av Beis Din of Jásd (Lithuania) and later as Rav and Av Beis Din of Oslo (Norway), editor of the Hamaggid journal and author of Diveri Shalom, Yalkut Hadrush and Sukkat Shalom Yitzchak. Wrote many articles that were published in many religious journals. Perished in the Holocaust. Vienna, [1929]. Small blemishes to the perimeter of the leaf. Good condition.
