Roman Signet Ring with Soldier on Horseback
2nd-3rd century AD
A bronze finger ring comprising a D-section hoop, ellipsoid plaque with intaglio horseman carrying a standard and flanked by two standing figures. 5.78 grams, 21.07mm overall, 17.17mm internal diameter (approximate size British L, USA 5 3/4, Europe 11.24, Japan 10) (3/4"). Very fine condition.
Provenance
From an important North West London collection; formerly in the Hephaestus collection.
