OFFICIAL COPPER FACSIMILE SET OF COCHIN JEWRY - c. 1968. Three engraved copper plates, official facsimiles of the royal charter of South India, originally dated circa 379–1000 CE. Inscribed in ancient Grantha-Tamil script, granting rights and privileges to the Jewish community. Considered one of the most important documents in the history of Indian Jewry. Produced on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the Paradesi Synagogue in Cochin. Length: 14 cm.
