RARE !!!

LOT [6] Aluminum cork for a wine bottle - from the factory of Yaakov Haberfeld - Oshwanchim - Auschwitz. Diameter: 4.7 cm,

Condition: V.Good.

In 1804, a wine and liqueur factory was established in the city of Auschwitz, near the Auschwitz extermination camp, by the Jew Jacob Haberfeld. The factory operated until 1939, when the Second World War broke out and the Nazis changed the name Oshwanchim to Auschwitz. Most of the family members managed to escape to the United States, but a minority of them were murdered by the Nazis and thus the founder Yaakov Haberfeld's liquor business came to an End.
