Picturesque Palestine Sinai and Egypt - Complete Set of Five Volumes - Edited by Sir Charles Wilson with Numerous Engravings on Steel and Wood. London, J. S. Virtue and Co. Circa 1880. All four volumes of Picturesque Palestine, which together include hundreds of beautiful illustrations and plates of engravings. In addition, a special volume about social life in Egypt, with many engravings in it as well. By Sir Charles William Wilson (1836-1905) who was an officer in the British Army, archaeologist and geographer. The illustrations and engravings were made based on paintings by Harry Fenn and John Douglas Woodward. Fancy leather bindings with gold decorations, gilded page edges. English, 240 + 240 + 240 + 236 + 138 pp., 33X26 cm. Good overall condition: there are minor blemishes on the covers, some rust stains.
