Rare Book of Poetry by Moishe Broderzon - With Photomontages - Lodz 1939 - משה בראדערזאן : [The Letter Yud]. Printed by H. Prowizor, Lodz, 1939. Broderzon's last book of poetry comprise 50 poems that predict the end of Polish Jewry. Accompanied by four plates of photomontage works, including the title plate with the author's photo, and additional plates with photos of Jews from Lodz and a soldier holding a sword. The graphic works are by designers Yehuda Levin and Pinchas Schwartz, some of the photographs were taken by Helmar Lerski. Broderzon (1890-1956) was a poet and playwright, who ran a Yiddish theater in Poland before World War II, and afterwards in the Soviet Union. At the end of his life he was imprisoned in the Gulag camp in Sibir and was released a year before his death. Yiddish, 25X17 cm. Rebound.
