Holocaust: Szmul Zygielbojm - Program for an Event in his Memory & Admission Ticket - 1961 - Szmul Mordko (Arthur) Zygielbojm (1895-1943) was a British Member of Parliament, socialist and Bund leader, who committed suicide in protest of the indifference of leaders to the Holocaust. This lot includes a bilingual program (Yiddish and English) for an evening given in his honor at Carnegie Hall, New York, September 24, 1961. The program includes a printout of two of Zygielbojm's last letters: His Last appeal to Humanity (addressed to the President and Vice President of Poland); and A Last Message to His Friends (addressed to the American representatives of the Bund in New York). In addition, the lot includes one admission ticket to the evening. Program: 30X15 cm. Ticket: 6.5X5 cm. Good-fair condition: rust spots, small tears, general wear.
