London: John Hinton, 1752. Early edition of The History of the Bible: The monumental work of Thomas Stackhouse (1677-1752) who was an English theologian. The books include about one hundred beautiful engravings, one of which folds out. Elegant leather bindings. English, 1650 + appendices and index, 39X25 cm. The books are in good overall condition, with some stains and water damage; the covers have rubbing and wear; the front covers are detached in both volumes. A few of the engravings are apparently missing.
