Victor Tausk - On the Origin of the ”Influencing Machine” in Schizophrenia - Stencil Copy in German - Uber die Entstehung des ”Beeinflussungsapparates” in der Schizophrenie. Von Dr. Victor Tausk. No publisher or printing details. A stencil copy of the famous essay by the Jewish psychoanalyst Victor Tausk (1879-1919), first published in a German journal in 1919. The article describes Tausk's observations and interpretations of a number of persecutory hallucinations that afflicted some of his patients diagnosed with schizophrenia. They believed that their thoughts and physical sensations were controlled by a machine that defied their technical understanding and secretly influenced them from a distance, and often claimed that it was operated by a group of people who were persecuting them. The copy is filled with the stamps of the ”Shalvata” mental health institution, and probably originates from their archives. German, 25 pp. single-sided, 29X22 cm. Good condition, slight wear to the cover.
