Extermination of Polish Jews: Album of Pictures - Lodz 1945 - Central Jewish Historical Committee in Poland, Lodz, 1945. An album containing 252 photographs published immediately after the end of the war and the Holocaust. The photographs document the Jews of Poland at various stages of the Nazi extermination machine, from the ghettos, through the trains to the extermination camps. Many of the shocking photographs were taken by the Germans themselves. Alongside these are also photographs of the lives of the partisans, photographs of the Jewish survivors after the liberation, and sketches of the Sobibor and Belzec extermination camps. With a text by Dr. Philip Friedman, a Polish-Jewish historian and Holocaust survivor. Hebrew, Polish, English, Russian, French and Yiddish. 34X24 cm.  Poor condition: The original binding is missing, and the book has been rebound; extensive water damage to the binding and pages; many rust stains; tears and repairs; details of previous owners are written on the title page.
