Ephraim Moshe Lillien - Juda - Berlin 1910 - Juda: Gesänge von Börries, Freiherrn von Münchhausen. Buchschmuck von E. M. Lilien. Berlin: Egon Fleischel & Co., ca 1910. A beautiful book with illustrations and decorations by Lilien for poems by Boris von Münchhausen (1874-1945), a German Romantic poet who began his career as an orientalist and ardent pro-Zionist, and later changed his views and became an anti-Semite and even a member of the Nazi party. This book, in keeping with Lilien's style, is full of images of a Jewish nature and Jewish symbols. Cover decorated with the Tablets of the Covenant, roses and the Star of David. German, 25X20 cm. Overall good-fair condition: tears in the spine, a few stains and light wear. At the end of the book are attached 9 illustrated pages torn from another book by Lilien (many rust stains).
