Letter Sent from Auschwitz by a Polish Prisoner - 1944 - A letter sent from Auschwitz II (Birkenau) concentration camp by a Polish prisoner named Kazimir Ozeluy. The letter is handwritten in German, on official camp paper. Dated March 5, 1944. Includes the address of the recipient, personal details of the prisoner (including year of birth, prisoner number and camp block number), a postmark and a stamp with a portrait of Hitler. According to the block details, Ozeluy was imprisoned in the camp's Gypsy block. The letter is addressed to his mother and sisters, in which he informs them that he is well and that he has received the packages they sent him. He probably wrote these things because of the censorship that applied to letters leaving the camp, which required the internees to report that they were healthy. German, 10.5X15 cm. Overall good condition, slight wear.
