Arts et Metiers Graphiques – First 68 Issues of Art Magazine with Contributions from Noted Artists - This is the first 68 issues of the art review by Charles Peignot entitled Arts et Metiers Graphiques. It was published beginning in September 1927. This includes up to issue 68 published in May of 1939. The run is near complete with one missing overlay in issue nos. 8, 26, 43, and 51. The magazines are in paperback, but two of the issues are spiral bound. Paul Valéry wrote the introductory text entitled ”The two virtues of a book.” There are issues dedicated to certain subjects including photography, international art books, caricatures, French advertising, Victor Hugo, and publishing in France. Overall an impressive magazine with distinguished contributors. The magazines included articles by Larbaud, Vox, Escholier, Pichon, Bouteron, Moussinac, Audin, Suarès, Jou, Guégan, Barbier, de Régnier, Jacomet, Epstein, Roger-Marx, Tristan Klingsor, and more. The issues include original lithographs, etchings, or aquatints from varied artists including Matisse, Bofa, Toulouse-Lautrec, Man Ray, Vertès, Galanis, Alexeieff, Marie Laurencin, Derain, Cassandre, Jean Hugo, Masereel, Brodovitch, Edy-Legrand, Tchimoukow, Vlaminck, Lydis, Ben Sussan, Rojankovsky, & more. There are also original woodcuts and reproduced compositions after Foujita, Iacovleff, Chas-Laborde, Van Dongen, Dufy, Utrillo, and others.
