Duart Vintage Floor-Standing Permanent Wave Machine - This vintage floor-standing hair perming machine, manufactured by Duart, features a heavy three-legged cast metal base and an adjustable vertical pole supporting a large circular head assembly. A metal nameplate on the base is marked with the stylized Duart brand name. The head assembly is finished in a black textured coating and contains a central hub from which numerous twisted dark-colored electrical cords descend. Each cord terminates in a metal hair clip, several of which are also stamped with the DUART mark. The side of the head assembly includes a control panel featuring a metal toggle switch mounted on a white circular plate with red printed text reading TEST CURL and OFF. The construction consists primarily of cast iron, steel, and electrical wiring components.
