Vtg Ceramic Political and Whiskey Decanters - A group of mid-20th-century figural ceramic whiskey decanters featuring political and novelty motifs. The collection includes several items manufactured for the James B. Beam Distilling Company by Regal China, as well as a decanter from Old Cabin Still. The forms consist of anthropomorphic elephants and a donkey representing American political symbols, portrayed in various costumes including boxing attire, clown suits, and formal wear with suspenders. Additional forms include a brown football-shaped decanter and a bearded figure seated on a barrel. Several pieces retain original paper and foil labels with markings including BEAM, Genuine REGAL CHINA HANDCRAFTED, and OLD CABIN STILL. Labels on the Beam decanters specify age statements of 100 months and 120 months, along with 4/5 QUART and 86 PROOF. The vessels are made of molded ceramic finished with polychrome glazes and hand-painted details. Unlabeled figures in the group, including the donkey, are in the style of mid-century Italian ceramic decanters produced for Chianti exporters.
