CERAMIC HEN ON NEST - A two-piece glazed earthenware covered dish in the traditional hen on nest form. The lid is molded in the shape of a nesting hen with detailed textural feathering. The oval base features a beaded or pearl-style rim. The piece is finished with a cream-colored translucent glaze. The underside of the base is hand-inscribed with the text Finished by Juanita 11/23/93. There are no factory backstamps or manufacturer markings present, which is consistent with items produced from commercial molds in a ceramic hobbyist studio. Length: 7 - 9 inches.
