VTG AVON MILK GLASS HEN ON NEST - This vintage covered dish is a Hen on Nest pattern manufactured for Avon. The two-piece set features a lid made of white opaque milk glass molded in the shape of a sitting hen with detailed feathering. The oval base is constructed of white milk glass with a caramel-toned or amber-colored exterior finish that replicates a basketweave pattern. This form was originally utilized by Avon as a container for hostess soaps or cosmetic items. The underside of the base bears the embossed mark AVON within a rectangular frame and the numeral 2 within a square frame. Length: Approximately 5 inches.
