Bidspirit auction | WESTMORELAND MILL GLASS HON

WESTMORELAND MILL GLASS HON - This two-piece covered dish is crafted from opaque white milk glass. The lid is molded in the form of a nesting hen, featuring a distinctive tall split tail and intricate feather detailing across the body. The head of the hen displays red cold-painted accents on the comb, wattles, and eyes. The base is designed with a molded basketweave texture and a beaded rim where the lid sits. On the underside of the base, there is a raised, molded central bar within the smooth central oval. This specific mold and split-tail design are highly consistent with the mid-20th-century production of Westmoreland Glass.
