Bidspirit auction | Trio of Blue Pressed Glass
Trio of Blue Pressed Glass Tableware Including an Indiana Glass Princess Pattern Covered Dish - This lot contains three pieces of vintage blue pressed glass. The largest item is a covered candy dish in light blue translucent glass, identified as the Princess pattern and attributed to Indiana Glass. The base features a diamond-point pattern around the lower section with vertical fluting on the upper panels. The matching lid displays a radiating ribbed design and is topped with a faceted pyramid-style finial. Accompanying the dish is a creamer and sugar set in deep cobalt blue glass. Both pieces are decorated with horizontal concentric rings in a style consistent with the Moderntone pattern produced by companies such as Hazel-Atlas or Hocking Glass during the mid-20th century. The sugar bowl is an open vessel with two applied handles, and the creamer features a single handle and a pinched pouring spout. Both cobalt pieces rest on flared circular bases. A yellow auction lot sticker with the handwritten number 33 is present on the lid of the light blue dish. No maker marks are visible on any of the items.
