Iridescent Cobalt Blue Carnival Glass Footed Basket in the Canterbury Pattern - This footed basket is composed of deep cobalt blue glass with a multi-colored iridescent carnival finish, exhibiting highlights of purple, green, and gold. The piece features the Canterbury pattern, which is characterized by a band of embossed grapes and foliage on the upper body and a diamond-quilted texture on the lower portion. The basket is designed with a flared, ruffled rim and an applied smooth glass handle. It sits on a pedestal base with a scalloped edge. Based on the pattern and form, this piece is attributed to the Indiana Glass Company. The interior center is molded with a matching grape motif.
