Large Decorative Ceramic Ewer with Sponged Blue Decoration and Mother Goose Motif - A large decorative ceramic ewer or pitcher featuring a country-style aesthetic popular in the late 20th century. The vessel is characterized by an ornate form including a high scrolled handle, a flared spout with a scalloped rim, and a matching scalloped pedestal base. The body is finished in a cream-colored glaze with heavy blue sponged or spatter-ware decoration applied to the neck, handle, and foot. A transfer-printed medallion on the front depicts two white geese wearing blue bows. Gold-toned luster accents are applied to the rim, handle, and base, and also border the central decorative panel. No maker marks or factory stamps are visible on the exterior portions of the object.
