Letter of Recommendation Signed by Rav Yisrael Ashkenazi, Av Beis Din of Tysmenytsia and Brother of Rav Moshe Dovid of טולטשווא . Certificate written in German in which a certain Jew proclaims, after it has been ascertained that he does not have any properties, businesses, any trade by which to support himself nor any relatives, and is supported solely by the members of the community, that he urgently needs 40 'Gulden' to cover his debts. The certificate is from 5590 and signed in Hebrew is the signature of Rav Yisrael Ashkenazi (5530-5601) Rav of הובניב and Tysmentsia. His approbations appear in the sefarim of his generation 'on the same line as' the approbations of the famous Chozeh Milublin, Rav Naftali of Ropshitz and the Yismach Moshe. Rav Yisrael was the uncle of the Yitev Lev: His brother, Rav Moshe Dovid of מטולטשווא, was the Yitev Lev's father-in-law and the grandfather of Rav Yoel of Satmar.
