Letter from Rav Shlomo Tzvi Shik, AB”D of Karcag, Author of Rashban Responsa. Letter from Rav Shlomo Tzvi Shik, AB”D of Karcag, to the heads of Adas Yisrael in Karlsburg. Letter of recommendation from 5637 [1877] to accept Rav Avraham Blass as a Dayan in their community, as he had already served for a number of years as a moreh hora'ah in Tiszafured (close to Karcag). Rav Shik greatly praises him in this letter. Rav Shlomo Tzvi Shik , who served in the Karcag Rabbinate for almost fifty years was one of the most prolific Rabbinic writers in Hungary. He was a descendant and disciple of the Maharam Shik and was the nephew of Rav Dovid Shik- AB”D of Tokaj and author of 'Imrey Dovid”, and of Rav Chaim Tzvi Manheimer. From 5629 served as Rav of Karcag until his passing in 5676. Of his works, the following were published: ”Siddur Haminhagim”- 4 volumes; ”Takkanos Utefillos”; Siddur Rashban”; Rashban Responsa”; ”MiMoshe Ad Moshe” (about the Maharam Shik) and ”Sefer Torah Shlomo”- 3 volumes.
