Letter from Rav Yehoshua Rabinowitz av”d Kletzk and Nieśwież, son of Rav Eliyahu Ragoler, sent to Rav Shmuel Salant. 1880
Lot includes the original envelope upon which Rav Shmuel Salant added three lines in his own hand. Rav Shmuel Salant’s writing is extremely rare.
Letter from Rav Yehoshua Rabinowitz av”d Kletzk and Nieśwież. The letter was sent to Rav Shmuel Salant and discusses a “shaliach holacha and kabalah” and names for gittin.
In his letter, he includes a note about his great father: I didn’t want to send the “get pashut” by regular post, because that is how my father the great chassid acted…”
Rav Yehoshua Rabinowitz av”d of Kletzk and Nieśwież (d. 1887) was a prominent Torah scholar in his time. He was the son of Rav Eliyahu Ragoler of Kalish and served as av”d in Kletzk and, from 1870, as av”d in Nieśwież. Rav Yechiel Michel Tucazinsky was his stepson and was raised by him for for two years.
