Halachic decisions regarding salting meat, meat and milk and forbidden mixtures, by Rabbi Daniel of Grodno. This is the first section of the
Chamudei Daniel that was printed.
Rabbi Daniel of Grodno (1740-1806) was a prominent halachic authority whose ruling were accepted throughout the Diaspora. He is quoted many times in the
Pitchei Teshuvha. He served as halachic authority in Grodno for more than forty years and was buried next to the "Yesod V’Shoresh Ha’avodah." (In his will, the Yesod V’Shoresh Ha’avodah, instructed that nobody other than a “prominent, complete righteous person" should be buried near him.)
