Manuscript, supplications and piyutim for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur recited in the Maghreb Region [that do not appear in printed machzors].
“
Magen” is the name of the piyut recited before the blessing of Magen Avraham. The manuscript took its name from that piyut, though it includes piyutim recited throughout the machzor.
Handwritten title page. Vibrant, multi-colors, decorative border.
The margins and colophon bear the name of the writer: יעיש בן רבי יעקב חנינה and reference to the year – 1933.
[26] leaves. Maghrebian hand, large letters. 11x18 cm.
A few small holes, new cloth binding with holes.
