Very rare! Manuscript - Derech Moshe mussar work. C. 1740.

Manuscript of rare, prominent mussar work, Derech Moshe by Rabbi Moshe ben Rabbi Meir Kahana. Beautiful and clear handwriting. c. 1740.

Rabbi Moshe Kahana, was a disciple of his father, Rabbi Meir Kahana and disciple of Rabbi Dovid Oppenheim, author of the Nishal Dovid. He served as av”d in גיבטש and then dayan in Lisa. He was known as a preacher and ethical rebuker.

The work was first printed during the author’s lifetime in 1699 and then again by his son in 1734. Both of these editions are extremely rare and uncommon. This manuscript was copied from the second edition that was published by the son.

The manuscript is incomplete. It contains the beginning of the book, including the title page text, introductions; the first 30 leaves (the printed edition has 47 leaves, this manuscript reaches leaf 18 of the printed edition).
30 leaves. 17.5 cm. Binding in disrepair, some of the leaves are faded. Fine condition.
