Rav Shimon Zvi Horowitz (1870-1947) was a prominent mekubal. He founded the Shaar Hashamayim yeshivah together with HaGaon HaRav Chaim Yehudah Leib Auerbach and promoted the study of Kabbalah. In ”niglah, ” he was a talmid of Rav Shmuel Salant and, in ”nistar, ” of Rav Sasson Bachar Moshe of Yeshivas Bet El.
