Letter from Rabbi Shmuel of Krosno, to his brother-in-law the Gaon of Teplik Letter written by Rav Shmuel Rabinowitz of Krosno, sent to his brother-in-law Rav Shimshon Aharon Polonsky, the Tepliker Rav- Yerushalayim. The letter includes mazal tov blessings upon the marriage of the Tepliker Rav's daughter, in addition to light conversation regarding what ” avi zikni ” told his son-in-law. The avi zikni  apparently refers to Rav Yeshaya Yehudah Leib of Krosno, grandson of Rav Chaim of Krosno, talmid of the Baal Shem Tov. Rav Shmuel of Krosno (born 1885) was a direct descendant of Rav Chaim of Krosno, prominent talmid of the Besht. When he was young, he took over the position of his father, Rav Shalom Yosef in Krosno. He lived through the Communist revolution, was exiled to Siberia and then returned to Moscow, he was then sentenced to a detention camp for eight years, where he passed away. The remaining three pages are in Yiddish. They were written by his wife, the sister of the Tepliker Rav. Light tears, fold marks, aging stains, filing holes.
