Rare! Siddur Tikunei Shabbos with Derech HaChaim - Nusach Sephard - Jozefow - Shapira [1844?] / rare leaves from the Ra”avan Siddur, Ostrog Siddur Tikunei Shabbos with Derech HaChaim- includes tefillos for weekday, Shabbos, holidays and high holidays, with the haggadah, selichos, yotzros and hoshanos, with a compilation of words of wisdom regarding teshuvah and tefillah, compiled by Rav Moshe of Zaloshin, along with the Derech HaChaim of Rav Chaim of Lissa. The last three pages feature hanhagos of Rav Avraham Dovid of Buczacz. Following the closure of their press in Slavuta, the Shapira family temporarily moved their printing equipment to Jozefow, until they permanently reestablished their press in Zhitomir. Print and Year: Jozefow [1844?], ”In the printing press formerly in Slavita”, Printed ”Under the supervision of R. Chanina Lipa Shapira, grandson of the Slavita Rabbi” We estimated the year of print per the chart of moldot in the siddur for years, 1845-1847. This siddur is known bibliographically as the Jozefow edition, 1842, and it is likely that this is what appeared on its title page of the siddur. We have seen an identical siddur with the title page of 1842, with the chart of moldot for 1846-1848. Leaves and size: Two sections in one volume. In the original: Section one: [2], 204 leaves. Section two: [1] 2-37, 34-45, 53-120 leaves. In this exemplar: Section one: 20-35, 45-48, 50-73, 76-77, 80-195, 199-204 leaves. Missing 38 leaves. Section two: 2-37, 34-45, 53-120 leaves. Missing the title page. Some of the tefillos that are missing from the first section have been supplied with pages from the Ra'avan siddur, Ostrog - altogether 15 leaves, some incomplete. (There are three known Ostrog prints, from 1827, 1830, 1932. All three are very rare. These leaves are not from 1827.) Condition: This siddur was well-used. It is missing 39 leaves (some of the tefillos were filled in with pages from other siddurim). In about another 20 leaves, there are pieces missing, tears, and primitive tape with loss and blemish to text. Wax drippings on the pages for bedikas chametz and Chanukah brachos; wine stains on the pages with kiddush and the haggadah. Dampstains. The binding is not the original.
