Abuchatzeira Family. Manuscript of the Abir Yaakov, kabbalist and wonder-worker, Rav Yaakov Abuchatzeira. Leaf written in the holy hand of the Godly kabbalist and wonder-worker, Rav Yaakov Abuchatzeira, the Abir Yaakov. The glory and holiness of the Abuchatziera is renowned throughout the nation. This distinguished family produced generations of Torah giants, kabbalists and wonderworkers. One of the patriarchs of this legendary family was Rav Yaakov Abuchatzeira, the Abir Yaakov. Born in Morocco in 1806, at the age of sixteen, he already merited “giluy Eliyahu” and learned Torah from this holy prophet. He served as Rabbi in Tafilalt and its environs and was the leading posek throughout Morocco. He set off to Eretz Israel at an old age, intent on settling in the Holy Land and printing his many works. He left his hometown quietly, so that his community wouldn’t prevent him from leaving. He traveled to Alexandria, Egypt and then to Damanhur, arriving on the 17th of Tevet, 1880. On that very day, he took sick and dreamt that he would die. He accepted Hashem’s decree and on the 20th of Tevet, he told those around him to bring him water and wash his hands. He told them to recite Shir Hashirim for him and then asked for Kriyas Shema. They recited Kriyas Shema together, he said viduy, put his feet on the bed and his soul left his body in complete purity and holiness. Small leaf. 13x10 cm. Within a nice leather binding. With a confirmation from the family of the Baba Sali definitively identifying this handwriting as that of the Abir Yaakov.
