Gur. Long Letter from the Pnei Menachem. New York [1966] Long airmail letter, handwritten and signed by the Admor- Rabbi Pinchas Menachem Alter of Gur. Includes many details of his travel to the United States on behalf of Yeshivas Sfas Emes. Rabbi Pinchas Menachem Alter (1926-1996), known as the Pnei Menachem,   was the youngest son of the Imrei Emes and led the Sfas Emes yeshiva in Jerusalem for many years. He held all the physical necessities of the yeshiva students on his shoulders. After the passing of his brother- the 'Lev Simcha', he led the yeshiva, until he passed away with a 'mitas neshika' (being 'kissed by Heaven' so to speak, passing away without illness) on Shushan Purim. Airmail letter from [1966] good condition. Folding marks, slight tears along the margins.
