Shu”t Maharik – Copy of Reb Leib Stavisker and Rav Eliyahu Lopian Shu”t Maharik by Rav Yosef Colon. The title page bears the stamp of Rav “Chaim Aryeh Rotenberg, Rav of k”k Stawiski.” The flyleaf bears the owner notation of Rav Eliyahu Lopian. Rav Chaim Aryeh Rotenberg-Mishkovsky (1836–1898), known as ”Reb Leib Stavisker, ” was a prominent Gadol in Lithuania. He learned with the Perushim in Eyshishok and was a close friend of the Chafetz Chaim, who learned with him and consulted with him while composing the Mishnah Berurah. He served as rav in Orlowa and Stawiski. His son was Rav Chizkiyahu Yosef Mishkovsky, av beis din of Krynki. His Torah was published as P nei HaAri Chiddushim in Warsaw, 1902. Rav Eliyahu Lopian (1876–1976) was one of the great baalei mussar of the last generations and a leading talmid of Kelm. In 1950, he moved to Eretz Yisrael and taught Torah and mussar in Yerushalayim. In 1951, he started serving as mashgiach in Kfar Chassidim. His Torah was published in Lev Eliyahu that was edited by his close talmid Rav Shalom Schwardron. Warsaw, 1884. Fine condition.
