Hungary. Rabbi Yehudah Goldstein av”d Sabinov. Letter written and signed by Rabbi Yehudah Goldstein av”d Sabinov, regarding receipt of funds for the burial of a person who died in his community. Rabbi Yehudah Goldstein (1877-1933) was the son of Rabbi Yehoshua Goldstein of Szerdahely, son of Rabbi Ezra Tzoref rav”d Szerdahely (son-in-law of Rabbi Aharon Shmuel Assad, son of the Mahari Assad). He was a disciple of the Shevet Sofer and son-in-law of Maharam Sofer, av”d Tisza-Füred. In 1900, he became av”d Károlyváros, and then was av”d in Sabinov for thirty years. He published the Divrei Maharia on the Torah, the teachings of his grandfather, Rabbi Yehudah Assad ( Chatam Sofer V’Talmidav p. 571). 17×20.5 cm. Filing holes, fold marks, overall good condition.
