המקובל רבי אליעזר ידיד הלוי נולד לאביו רבי יום טוב בשנת תרמ"ה בחאלב שבסוריה. בשנת תר"ן כשהיה בן חמש, עלתה המשפחה לארץ והשתקעה בירושלים. והיה ממקובלי ישיבות המקובלים 'רחובות הנהר' ו'בית אל', נפטר בשנת תרצ"ד.
