A privileged book! Shoshanat Ha`Aamakim - Copy of Admor Rabbi Yosef Av Beit Din of Yass and son of Rabbi Matityahu Landa
Sefer Shoshanat Ha`Aamakim, by Rabbi Yosef Teomim author of "Pri Megadim". Lemberg, 1837. Printed by the woman Chaya, widow of Rabbi Naftali Hertz Graishman.
On the title-page there is an owner's signature in the handwriting of "Yosef" and below it is an owner's signature "the Mattei son of the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Yosef Av Beit Din of Yass". [Also the same signature appears in the book], so the previous seal is his father Rabbi Yosef Landa.
The Admor Rabbi Yosef Landa (5551-5614), author of "Birkat Yosef" on Pri Megadim, one of the greatest Hassidic scholars, disciple of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev, Rabbi Baruch of Mezhibuz, Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin, who was very close and appreciative, studied with him in the secrets of the Torah, and he was considered the court's keeper, from 5594 until the death of his father in 5614.
His son, Rabbi Matityahu Landa (1837-1917), was one of the disciples of Ruzhin. Rabbi Shlomo Kluger and Rabbi Mordechai Ze'ev Eitinga served in the rabbinate in several cities in Romania: Lassfitz, Penszet (Posenesti) and Podul (Podznesti) -Turcului Podol-Turkului), author of "Toldot Yosef" about his father's history, and "Toseftet Shem" pamphlet on the book "Shem Olam" on the names of Gittin.
