הגאון רבי אליהו פוסק - [תרי"ט – תרצ"ב], נודע בגאונותו הכבירה. נולד לרב משה צבי פוסק אב"ד בצוויטנא–ווערשאק, שהיה מקורב לאדמו"ר רבי נחום ממקרוב. היה רב במוהייליווקי שמחוז חרסון, בזלטופול ובזריווקא ואב בית הדין בעיר אלאפאליא שבפלך פודוליה.
רבי אליהו נודע כפוסק חשוב וחיבר ספרים רבים: שו"ת מר ואהלות, כורת הברית על הלכות מילה. מרבה תורה, אזלא גרש ועוד.
