A Group of Japanese Satsuma Style Polychrome and Gilt Decorated Ceramics - A group of Japanese earthenware ceramics in the Satsuma style, dating from the late Meiji to Taisho period. The collection includes a large ovoid vase with a flared rim, a small jar, two teacups with lustrous gilded interiors, and a matching saucer. Each piece is constructed from earthenware with a characteristic cream-coloured crackle glaze. The decoration consists of polychrome enamels and raised moriage work, heavily accented with gilding. The decorative scheme features panels of stylised landscapes, floral motifs, and geometric borders. The large vase displays a green-ground panel containing stylised script. These items are typical of Japanese export wares produced for the Western market in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
