Bidspirit auction | A Trio of Large Twin-Handled

A Trio of Large Twin-Handled Glass Demijohns - A trio of large glass demijohns, likely dating from the 19th to early 20th century. Each vessel is hand-blown into a mould to achieve a globular form, featuring a short neck with a thick, applied rim and two small, applied ear-shaped handles at the shoulder. The glass is clear with a natural greenish-grey tint characteristic of soda-lime glass from this period. One bottle displays remnants of gold-coloured lettering or a label on the side. These vessels are similar in style to those used by commercial producers for the bulk storage and transport of liquids such as cider, spirits, or vinegar.
