A Late 19th Century British Industrial Heavy-Duty Forged Steel and Hardwood Cutter - This large industrial or trade cutter is designed for heavy-duty manual use, likely for processing sugar loaves, tobacco, or rope. The tool features a forged iron or steel cutting head with a curved blade, joined to long handles via brass ferrules. The handles are constructed from a dark hardwood, possibly mahogany or rosewood, and are secured with multiple brass pins. The construction methods and materials are characteristic of British commercial tools from the Victorian or Edwardian periods. Small, worn stamped marks are present on the brass ferrules but are not legible. A white auction lot sticker numbered 29 29 is adhered to one handle.
