The piece is constructed with a shaped, black painted cast iron base featuring raised lettering on both sides stating W & T AVERY LTD on the upper rail and TO WEIGH 1lb on the lower rail. The assembly includes a brass beam and central indicator with two distinct brass pans: one deep-sided bowl and one shallow, flat plate. The lot is accompanied by a set of circular iron weights of graduated sizes.
