The mug is of a tapered form with a scroll handle and features blue transfer-printed architectural scenes depicting London landmarks. It is finished with a gilded rim and a vertical gilded panel inscribed 2000 Millennium. The plates are circular with scalloped edges and are decorated in the traditional Willow pattern, showing the classic motifs of a bridge with three figures, a pagoda, a willow tree, and birds in flight. The decoration is executed in blue transfer-print on a white ground. No manufacturer marks are visible as the plates are stacked and no marks are apparent on the mug.
