Two items comprising an English copper helmet coal scuttle and a commemorative industrial copper rod - This lot consists of a traditional English helmet-shaped coal scuttle and a commemorative industrial copper rod. The coal scuttle is constructed from hammered copper sheet with a riveted body and base, fitted with a fixed, arched wrought iron overhead handle. The accompanying copper rod is an industrial specimen with a coiled steel spring handle. The rod is fitted with a metal collar bearing the engraved inscription: COPPER ROD ROLLED AT TATANAGAR JANUARY 1953. This item provides a historical link to industrial output from Tatanagar, India, in the mid-20th century.
