Chinese Glazed Ceramic Figure of a Monk or Immortal in the Style of Shiwan Pottery - A glazed stoneware figure depicting a bearded male figure, possibly the Buddhist monk Bodhidharma, standing atop a base of stylized clouds. The figure is shown in traditional flowing robes with elongated earlobes and a prominent beard. The piece features a combination of glazes, including a dark aubergine-coloured glaze on the skin and hair, complemented by turquoise and ochre glazes on the garments. This style of modelling and glazing is consistent with export ceramics from the Shiwan kilns in Guangdong province. No factory marks or signatures are visible. An orange adhesive sticker with the number 19 is present on the chest.
