Bidspirit auction | A Large Victorian Brass Jam

A Large Victorian Brass Jam Pan with Wrought Iron Handle - A large Victorian or early 20th-century utilitarian brass vessel, designed for use as a jam pan, preserve pot, or cauldron. The vessel is constructed from heavy-gauge sheet brass with a rolled rim and is fitted with a hand-forged wrought iron swing handle attached to the body via two riveted iron brackets. The item exhibits a traditional circular form characteristic of domestic cookware from the period. No maker's marks or stamps are visible on the surfaces; an orange auction lot sticker numbered 124 is present on the interior. The lot includes a larger secondary vessel in which the brass pan is nested, appearing to be manufactured from galvanised steel or zinc.
