The bowls are decorated with hand-chased and engraved motifs depicting a bird with outspread wings, possibly a peacock, set within a field of scrolling foliage and floral patterns. The style of engraving is characteristic of mid-20th-century export metalwork from South Asia. No manufacturer marks or silver hallmarks are visible on the items.
