A Set of Four William IV Mahogany Dining Chairs - A set of four William IV mahogany side chairs, dating to circa 1830-1840. Each chair is constructed with a curved, scroll-top bar-back top rail positioned over a horizontal mid-rail decorated with carved scroll terminals. The chairs feature fixed seats upholstered in a cream and gold-toned striped fabric, finished with a braided gimp trim. The frames are supported by ring-turned and tapered front legs and out-swept sabre rear legs. The construction follows traditional early nineteenth-century patterns with the back uprights flowing continuously into the seat rails. No maker's marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the exterior of the chairs.
